This is going to be a quick post, because sometime mothers have not a whole lot of time to do about anything!
I have long thick wavy hair, meaning that, if I refuse to walk around with a lion mane, I have to put some time and effort into doing some kinds of hair do. But by the time I get up in the morning, I have 3 little goose needing me and often just grab my hair in a bun and that it. Low maintenance, easy, but not really pretty!
Then I find out that I can have pretty curl without much effort.
All you need is a headband (choose one that fit snug on your head), styling product of your choice and dry hair.
How to achieve this look
- apply styling product of choice or slightly damp your hair (using a spray bottle). I use Argan oil of the tip of my hair (I tend to have dry tips cause frizzes) and a medium hold mouse.
- using the following picture found on pinterest, place the hairband and start rolling your hair in. The smaller the section of hair you use and the tighter you tuck over and under the headband, the tighter the curls are going to be.

- Sleep with this hairdo all night and in the morning, get up, remove the hairband and voila, pretty bouncy natural looking curls.
Estimated time, 5-10 minutes, short enough to do this once or twice a week and getting rid on the Mommy Hair Do!
Now if you would like a video tutorial on how to make those pretty curls, let me know in the comments and I'll try to make it for you.
Have you try any form of no heat curls? And if you are a mother, what is your hairstyle of choice at the moment???
Wow - that turned out beautifully!! You have lovely hair. I think my younger daughter's hair might be long enough to try this.
ReplyDeleteThank you Tracey :-)
DeleteBeautiful! What an excellent trick! I hardly ever do my hair. I just have the long layers and my hair is naturally a little wavy but as i'm aging it's less wavy. I also heard of the sock bun on YouTube but it's hard to get all the layers in. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try this. :)
ReplyDeleteit's so easy to do, I bet it would work fine with layers (I do have some layers and worked for my hair)
DeleteYour hair looks awesome! I'm totally jealous of your thick wavy hair...
ReplyDeleteThank you and you don't want my hair, so much of it lol!!!!
DeleteLove this look!! So pretty! And an extra bonus with being so quick and easy to do!! I usually wash my hair and blow dry it and then wear it down that day, down the next day with minimal touch ups with the curling iron, and then up in a braid or bun or barette the day after that. I used to wash it everyday...but that's not very realistic with four littles running around! :)
ReplyDeletethank you :-)
DeleteThat looks great! I'll have to see if my oldest daughter wants to try it.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is actually about that curly on its own. I usually wash it in the morning and then let it air dry. If it goes too frizzy it goes up on my head in a sloppy bun. I didn't like having such curly hair as a kid, but as a mom it definitely works to my advantage!
easy hair is nice :-)
DeleteWow! That's amazing. Definitely trying this. =)
ReplyDeletei cant see the how to picture :(
ReplyDeleteProblem should be fix now, should be able to view picture!
